Transporter Refunds From Midwest's Stay In Preparation;
Announcements Issued

As a part of the settlement of MGE's most recent rate case (GR-2001-292) the parties agreed to a disposition of the escrow fund.  Midwest is to handle the disposition of $313,000 which represents roughly 1.6 cents per Mcf transported during the period direcltly covered by the stay fund.  Announcements to transportation customers have been mailed by Midwest and preparations are under way to make the refunds, probably before the first or second week of September, 2001.

Midwest is glad to bring this matter to an end with a favorable result for transportation customers who are being repaid virtually all of the overcharge caused by MGE's unlawful rates during the period following GR-96-285.
